Today AI got more expensive AND more useful. GitHub started metering Copilot. Anthropic filed for IPO. Gemini cloned you into videos. The unlimited AI era ended overnight.

Let's get into it. 👇

🪙 The "Unlimited AI" Era Ended at Midnight

For two years, the pitch was a flat fee. As of today, the meter is running.

GitHub Copilot officially transitioned to usage-based billing on June 1 — replacing the comfortable "premium requests" model with GitHub AI Credits that drain by the token. One credit equals one cent. A quick chat barely registers. An autonomous coding session points a meter at your repo and runs.

What actually shifts today:

  • Every plan moves to metered tokens at midnight

  • Inline autocomplete stays free. Chat and agentic sessions don't.

  • When your credits run out, Copilot stops — no quiet downgrade

Microsoft says the old model was unsustainable. Developers on Reddit say the new one is unaffordable for agentic work.

The uncomfortable question: when every AI coding tool meters by token, the developer who wins isn't the one with the smartest agent. It's the one who learned how to spend the fewest credits. Did your team pick up that skill yet?

🔹Claude Just Became a Real Estate Marketing Agency

Pull any listing from Airbnb, Booking, Zillow, or Expedia. Claude analyzes it, then builds the assets owners never had 3D tours, a clean website, photos that actually sell. Higgsfield MCP is the key. Pitch the owner. Get paid. Scale to the next one. The agency middle layer just got compressed into a single chat thread.

🔹OpenArt Just Launched VFX for Real Footage

OpenArt VFX lets you mask any region of a video you already have and replace it with AI-generated content that matches the scene's lighting and physics. No green screen. No rotoscope. No VFX house. The post-production layer Hollywood spent decades building just got compressed into one upload. The next indie short film won't need a budget. It'll need a prompt.

🔹Anthropic Just Filed Confidentially for an IPO

Anthropic confidentially submitted a draft S-1 to the SEC — the first formal step toward going public. No share count. No price. No timeline. Just the option, on the table, when conditions line up. The lab that brands itself as the safer one just made a bet that the public markets will pay a premium for it. OpenAI's Q4 IPO just got company.

🔹 Gemini Just Let You Clone Yourself Into Your Own Videos

Google rolled out digital avatars in Gemini Omni today — open the app, hit "Avatar" in settings, follow the steps, and Gemini builds a version of you that looks and sounds like you. Drop yourself into any video you generate. Every clip ships with an invisible SynthID watermark so anyone can verify it was AI-made. Available now for all Google AI Plus, Pro, and Ultra subscribers.

🧩A still image just became a Hollywood-grade video. No camera. No crew.

Higgsfield AI turns a single image into smooth, film-grade video with 50+ professional camera motions like bullet time, crash zooms, drone chases, and 360 orbits. Upload an image, pick a motion style, and the result looks like it was shot on a Red camera.

Higgsfield Mix, lets creators combine multiple motions in a single shot levitating figures with drone sweeps, orbiting shots with magical lighting, all in one take.

The full workflow with 6 DIY prompts from image to cinematic video is on Medium.
