Today: OpenAI is giving developers the infrastructure behind Codex, allowing agents to run code, use tools, coordinate subagents, and continue working across long sessions. Plus, DeepSeek introduces a more efficient model, V0 builds apps from prompts, and GPT‑Rosalind expands globally.

Let’s get into it 👇

OpenAI launches an API for building agents that work for days

OpenAI introduced the Agents API in public beta, giving developers the same managed harness and infrastructure that powers Codex. A single API call can create an agent that runs code, works with files, uses tools, and saves results across long sessions.

Developers can use OpenAI-hosted sandboxes or their own infrastructure, while built-in context management keeps agents working across multiple context windows. The API also supports MCP tools and parallel subagents, with no additional fee beyond the tokens and tools used.

🔹DeepSeek launches V4.1-Flash with fewer active parameters

DeepSeek introduced V4.1-Flash, a 552B-parameter mixture-of-experts model with native visual understanding. Its new asymmetric architecture activates only 8B parameters for input and 16B for output, while using one-quarter the HBM and one-eighth the SSD storage of its predecessor to reduce inference and agent costs.

🔹ChatGPT Pets can now track chats and start new ones

ChatGPT Pets now help users monitor conversations while away from the desktop app and launch new chats directly from the pet. For a smaller option, OpenAI introduced Mini, which offers the same shortcuts and updates while using less screen space.

🔹OpenAI rewrites a core Python platform in Rust

Python helped OpenAI rapidly support product development, but growing demand exposed challenges with event-loop management and connection pooling. OpenAI has now launched a Rust rewrite while sharing the engineering lessons it learned from scaling Python across its products.
