Everyone's been predicting AI will take your job. Then Jensen Huang walked on stage, named names, and dropped a number nobody expected.

🤖 Jensen Huang says stop listening to AI doomsayers — including other CEOs

Nvidia's Jensen Huang pushed back hard on predictions of mass AI unemployment, taking direct aim at leaders like Anthropic's Dario Amodei who warned of entry-level jobs vanishing.

His counter: AI has already added over 500,000 jobs. Companies adopting AI are hiring faster, not slower. The technology is on track to generate hundreds of thousands more roles and add trillions to the U.S. economy.

The tension: Huang's optimism sits right next to McKinsey's finding that core IT services could shrink 20–30%. Both can be true — AI destroys some roles while creating others. The question is whether you're positioned for the ones being created.

So what, for builders: Huang's advice is simple. Master AI as a tool, not a threat. The opportunity isn't disappearing it's shifting to whoever moves first.

Want proof it's already shifting? This week's Sunday Special breaks down where the new jobs are actually showing up — McKinsey's 4 new agentic roles, why Meta cut 8,000 jobs while doubling its AI budget, and how Google is paying startups to build agents. Read the Sunday Special

🔥This week in AI

🔹 One session at this event could change how you build with Claude. Free.

Code with Claude returns next week as a live virtual event. Whether you're just getting started with Claude Code or already shipping agents in production, there's a session built for your level.

This is Anthropic's clearest signal yet that Claude Code is becoming a serious developer platform not just a chat tool. Worth a few hours of your week.

🔹Runway is paying $100K for the show you've always wanted to make

Pitch any show concept. Generate a 1–3 minute trailer inside Runway. Submit it. Solo or team, multiple entries allowed. $50K grand prize, 20 winners total.

This is the cheapest pitch you'll ever make and the clearest sign yet that AI video is ready for real storytelling, not just clips.

⚠️ Deadline: May 4 at 10 AM ET. Requires an active Runway subscription.

🔹Your agent can now sound like anyone. One command.

ElevenLabs launched a Voice Changer Skill for agents — convert any voice into another while preserving the original emotion and timing. No custom audio pipeline. No model training.

If you're building apps with voice, this just removed weeks of work

🔹Microsoft just put an AI lawyer inside Word. And it's not what you think.

Microsoft launched a Legal Agent built directly into Word not a chatbot that summarizes contracts, but an agent that follows the structured workflows lawyers actually use. Clause review, redlining, contract analysis with the lawyer in control the entire time.

Legal work is one of the last industries where precision isn't optional every word in a contract can mean millions. If Microsoft can make AI work here, it validates the agent model for every other high-stakes profession. This isn't AI replacing lawyers. It's AI doing the work lawyers hate so they can focus on the work that matters.

The ops hire that onboards in 30 seconds.

Viktor is an AI coworker that lives in Slack, right where your team already works.

Message Viktor like a teammate: "pull last quarter's revenue by channel," or "build a dashboard for our board meeting."

Viktor connects to your tools, does the work, and delivers the actual report, spreadsheet, or dashboard. Not a summary. The real thing.

There’s no new software to adopt and no one to train.

Most teams start with one task. Within a week, Viktor is handling half of their ops.

📄Manus just gave your agents a machine that never sleeps

Manus launched Cloud Computer — a persistent cloud environment that keeps anything you build running 24/7, even when your laptop is off.

The timeline:

  • Your agents no longer stop when you close your browser. Cloud Computer keeps them executing in the background , no session timeouts, no lost progress.

  • Overnight research, multi-step automations, and scraping pipelines that couldn't finish in one sitting now run to completion on their own.

  • Available on web and mobile. Solo builders and full teams can spin up and walk away.

Why this matters: Persistent execution is the missing piece agentic AI has needed. Until now, most agents were limited by your laptop's uptime. Cloud Computer removes that ceiling what you build keeps running whether you're watching or not.

Builder tip: Try handing Manus a multi-step research task before bed. Cloud Computer means it'll be finished by morning.

🧬 81% of doctors now use AI. Nature Medicine asks: is any of it helping?

AIHealthTech Insider covered Nature Medicine's bombshell editorial not a breakthrough, but a question the industry can't dodge. Plus: an AI cracked the blood-brain barrier for Alzheimer's, a chatbot mentioned suicide 1,200 times to a teenager, and a 200,000-person study found the most powerful health intervention costs nothing.

⚡️Google wants your build on the I/O livestream — deadline is May 6

Google just opened I/O Countdown submissions — a community-built experience featured during the Google I/O 2026 livestream on May 19.

How to enter:

  • Vibe code something creative in AI Studio or Gemini Canvas

  • Feature a number between 1 and 10 — game, simulation, synthesizer, anything

  • Submit your share link by May 6

Why this matters: If selected, your build appears in front of millions of developers worldwide during one of the biggest AI events of the year. Templates are available if you need a starting point. This is the lowest-effort, highest-visibility opportunity for builders right now.
