Claude’s latest update brings the assistant into your Google files. ChatGPT can help turn meetings into follow-up work. Microsoft is bringing more AI onto PCs.
Here’s what’s available, what’s coming and what you can try.
Today:
Claude inside Google Docs, Sheets and Slides.
ChatGPT meeting notes that lead to next steps.
Microsoft’s push toward local AI.
Google’s public AI-media detector.
A customer follow-up kit you can build without coding.
Let’s get into it 👇

Claude can edit the file you’re already working on
Anthropic’s October 6 announcement brings Claude into Google Docs, Sheets and Slides through a sidebar add-on.
What it can do:
Docs: Revise passages and restructure documents.
Sheets: Write formulas, build pivot tables and create charts.
Slides: Build slides using your deck’s layouts and themes.
Separate connectors also let Claude create and edit Google files from its chat.
Why it matters: You could revise a client proposal or analyze a spreadsheet without repeatedly moving content between apps.
The honest part: This is a public beta on paid Claude plans. Keep “Ask before edits” enabled while you learn how it behaves, and review the results.
Get started: Install the add-on, open a file, then select Extensions → Claude → Open Claude.

🔥 More AI updates
🔹Your next meeting could come with a follow-up draft
ChatGPT’s Meetings plugin takes notes and saves personalized summaries and action items in ChatGPT Space. You can then ask it to draft a follow-up or update a project plan.

The details:
Available in beta for Pro and Business users in the macOS desktop app.
Meeting pages are private by default.
Find and install it through Plugins → Meetings.
Why it matters: A client conversation could become a reviewed summary and next-step draft.
The honest part: Enterprise access is currently limited to an alpha program. Get participants’ consent before taking notes, and check important details before sharing.
🔹Microsoft wants your PC to do more AI work locally
Microsoft’s October 7 announcement outlines Windows “hybrid intelligence”: using local AI when appropriate and the cloud when needed.
An optimized MAI Code 1.1 Flash coding model supports a 256K context window locally. GitHub Copilot’s local/cloud routing is expected in experimental preview later in October, with additional Copilot+ PC capabilities rolling out over the coming months.
Why it matters: Some coding and business tasks could rely less on cloud inference.
The honest part: Hardware and rollout matter. Local model use does not automatically make an entire workflow offline or eliminate every cost.
🔹Was that image made with AI? Google offers another check.
SynthID Detector became available globally in English on October 7.
It checks images, video and audio for supported invisible watermarks from Google and participating partners, including OpenAI, NVIDIA and Kakao. Apple support is coming later.

Our SynthID Detector test using an AI-generated image
Why it matters: It adds another check before you share media with customers or followers.
The honest part: No detected watermark does not prove something is human-made. A watermark also cannot tell you whether the content’s claims are true.
💡 An offer for eligible founders
Anthropic’s expanded startup program offers approved companies one year of Claude Team for up to five Premium seats, if new to Team, and $1,000 in API credits.

Startups founded within five years or funded within two can apply, including bootstrapped companies.
The honest part: Approval is required. Existing Team organizations don’t qualify for the Team offer. API credits expire after six months and apply through Claude Console.

🛠️ Try This
Stop losing the customer email prompt that worked
You write a useful AI prompt. A week later, you can’t find it or remember which version gave you the best result.
Our Medium walkthrough shows how to save a customer follow-up prompt on GitHub, test it and keep a record of improvements.
The process:
Create a repository called
customer-follow-up-kit.Save a prompt with the customer’s question, your earlier reply, time since the exchange, desired next step and tone.
Test it with fictional details. Check for invented facts and unclear requests.
Improve the prompt and save the change with a descriptive commit message.
What happened in our test: The first email used a generic greeting and left a sign-off placeholder. Adding both people’s names and an instruction to use them fixed that gap in the second test.
Try this with fictional details:
Write a customer follow-up email under 150 words. Use only the facts and names I provide. Include one clear next step. Do not invent prices, discounts, deadlines or claims. Ask me for essential missing information before drafting.
Bonus: Build and test a small website update tracker using AI-generated code.
