AI Data Centers
Biden Greenlights AI Data Centers on Federal Land
President Biden signed an executive order allowing private companies to build AI data centers on federal property owned by the Departments of Defense and Energy. These clean energy-powered facilities, funded by companies, will not increase consumer costs. Companies must follow standards for fair wages and domestic semiconductor sourcing. The initiative aims to enhance national security by ensuring safe AI development and limiting foreign access. Fast-tracked site identification and permitting, supported by agencies like the Departments of Energy and Commerce, will integrate these facilities into the power grid and supply chain, boosting America's AI leadership.
