A Reuters investigation reveals U.S. agencies are secretly embedding GPS trackers in AI server shipments to monitor illegal diversions to China.
How it works:
Trackers hidden in packaging or directly inside servers.
Targets shipments from Dell, Super Micro, and others using Nvidia or AMD chips.
Operated by the Bureau of Industry and Security, with support from Homeland Security Investigations and the FBI.
Some trackers installed with court approval others possibly without company knowledge.
Resellers in China reportedly checking for trackers to avoid detection.
Why it matters:
As AI chip power becomes a global strategic asset, the U.S. is using covert surveillance to enforce export bans highlighting the high stakes in the AI hardware race.

Google’s Gemini app just leveled up with smarter memory, tighter privacy, and a new way to chat without leaving a trace.
Fast facts:
Gemini now remembers your past chats to personalize responses like a creative partner who’s already caught up.
New Temporary Chats let you brainstorm or ask private questions without saving history or training the model.
“Gemini Apps Activity” is being renamed Keep Activity and you can turn it off anytime.
Audio, video, and screen shares via Gemini Live are off by default for training. You control what gets used.
Why it matters:
Gemini’s becoming more like a real assistant one that adapts to your style, remembers your interests, and respects your boundaries. Whether you're planning a comic-themed party or launching a YouTube channel, it’s now tuned to you — and knows when to back off.

APPLE

Apple is reportedly building a smart home robot that tracks your face, talks like a human, and runs on a brand-new version of Siri.
Fast facts:
Codenamed J595, the robot has a motorized arm that moves a 7-inch display toward whoever’s speaking.
Powered by Linwood, Apple’s in-house generative AI model — with a talking Memoji-style avatar called Bubbles.
A simpler smart display (J490) is also in the works, plus new battery-powered security cams (J450) with face + infrared detection.
All devices will run on a new OS called Charismatic, focused on voice, widgets, and personalized content.
Why it matters:
Apple’s not just playing catch-up in AI — it’s going physical. Robots, displays, and sensors are getting smarter, more personal, and more autonomous. Siri’s glow-up could reshape the smart home entirely.

A new Polish study finds that doctors relying heavily on AI during colonoscopies may lose diagnostic sharpness with adenoma detection rates dropping from 28.4% to 22.4% when AI was removed. Experts liken this to losing navigation skills from overusing GPS, warning that constant AI support may dull attention and responsibility.
